FAMILY COACHING SOLUTIONS:
WHAT IS FAMILY COACHING?
It is designing a creative life that is unique to your family’s needs.
It is not defined by what society or any part of your conditioning has told you how Life should be. It is an un-learning of the SHOULD’S that are keeping you from connecting
It is a reminder that families cannot be industrialized or capitalized or monetized…family is essential to our humanity
It is a returning back to TOGETHERNESS.
It is supporting and honoring each individual family member
it is zooming out, seeing the whole picture and creating a map that the whole family can read
It is creating structures of ritual and support that focus on care, safety and connection.
As an outsider of your family unit, I CAN support you, by asking the hard questions, by holding each member accountable and holding up a mirror that reflects back the powerful, capable family, who has been buried under a mountain of circumstances that has held back your potential for bonding and connection
I CAN help you discover what steps you need to take in building the life that supports the whole family and each member’s happiness.
I CAN guide you back to your dreams when you go off course.
I CAN be an outside advocate and cheerleader for your family
WHAT IS FAMILY COACHING?
In a healthy forest of trees, if one tree is sick, all the other trees are able to send nutrient reserves to the ailing tree through a complex network of roots and ground brush, all working together to support the one. This beautiful system is one worth modeling.
Families used to be born into villages and tribes. But in today’s fast paced, industrialized world, we have very little resources or connection to one another. We spend more time listening to the tv, podcasts, radio or the voices in our head, than listening to one another. We become families overnight without a safety net. We take in friends, adopt children, we take babies home from the hospital without instruction manuals. We suffer the hard parts of care giving often alone, wondering if we are making the right decisions, shaming ourselves for taking breaks, and also losing sleep wondering if we are spending enough time with our family, our partners and children. We fight voices in our heads wondering if we are capable of protecting our families from the traumas we have survived. We do all of this inside our minds instead of coming together to do what feels best.
We can do better. We are meant to live in community with one another. We are meant to nourish one another when we have reserves, and we are meant to be nourished when we are feeling low. My goal as a family coach is to provide support, create community and help families build structure and ritual that create a sense of safety and connection, while simultaneously fostering the independence and growth of each individual member. I do this through individual coaching, coaching the family as a whole, providing support networks, and leading family workshops and retreats.
NOTE: I use the term Family to mean “your people”. I support and coach families of all backgrounds, whether it is a traditional nuclear family, a blended family, an extended family or a chosen family.
